Hi Rooters, Today I received a copy of the death certificate for Helen Irene Thompson. Helen was one of the six Bottorff children left an orphan when her parents died on January 20, 1925, in Jackson, Michigan. Helen and her siblings were taken to Hedrick, Iowa to be cared for by relatives until they were adopted by various families in the community. Helen was adopted by the John Roop family. Helen married Oscar Chiarini, and they moved to Portland, Oregon. They divorced some years later, and according to family notes they may have had four children. I have no information on the children. Helen later married a man by the name of Thompson, but when she died in 1994 she was divorced. The informant on her death certificate was Mary Turner, a daughter.
