Yes, this is correct. 1925 Ia State census lists a David M 1863-, wife Anna as s/o John Bottorff + Jane reed.Yes, Sarah was their first child and then David M. 1860 cen Wapello Co IA. John 23 IN Jane 24 IN, Sarah 2 IA. Living next door was John Reed 55, Elizabeth Reed 54 b IN This is John Bottorff and Jane living next door to her parents. 1870 Wapello Co IA John Bottroff 32, Jane 35, LA 12(this is SA for Sarah), David M 9, A E 6 (this is Arzilla), M J 2 (this is Mary Jane) Can't find them in 1880 They are still in Wapello County, Iowa, but the name is spelled Bortoff on the census record. Jane died in 1874 while Thomas was a baby. John was listed with his second wife, Emeline, in the 1880 census. By 1880 Sarah is married to James H. Moore. David M. is listed as Madison. Arzilla and Mary Jane are still at home and William and Thomas were born before Jane died. Living in their household in 1880 is Thomas Deuser, age 24. Thomas Deuser is a half-brother to John W. Bottorff. They shared the same mother. She was Elizabeth Graves Bottorff Deuser. 1910 cen keokuk Co IA, D M Bottorff (David) and Anna next door to John W Bottorff age 43 or 73. I looked @ the original. the 4 is on top of a 7. If it's a 73 then b 1837 which fits for John Westly. wife Allie age 52. Emeline, John's second wife died about 1907. John Wesley Bottorff married Harriet Alice (Allie) Bottorff in 1908. The 1910 census says they have been married 2 years. William Franklin Bottorff s/o Geo Wash Bottorff + Agnes, had a daug Allie that married a John Bottorff. c 1908. Could this be John Wesley Bottorff as a second wife? This is his 3rd wife. John died in 1914, and Allie was living next door to David M.(John's son) in 1920. Can anyone fill in any more details on John Wesley Bottorff and jane reed's family? Jane had a massive heart attack in 1874 while she was holding Thomas, her baby, on her lap. John married Emeline who had no children, but according to information from descendants she was a good mother to John's children.
