Jim Bottorff told me his John Bottorff was Martin’s son. Then when we found the marriage record for John Bottorff and Elizabeth Graves and then the LDS records indicated John Bottorff, born 1818, was the son of Martin we accepted it although it is altogether possible for this John Bottorff to be the son of someone besides Martin.
