Louann Have you hit the Jackpot. At least four of us on the list Have Zach Bottoms in our Research and files. In my opinion he was probably one of the most colorful of all the Sons of William Bottoms and Mary Ann Witt. Zach was born in Jefferson Co. Tennessee and Traveled to Texas About 1832/3 He helped win the Texas independence. He was acquainted with some that became famous. He knew Peter Pitchlyn the son of an Indian Chief of the Choctaw. He received many acres of land in the Waxatchie Area of Texas. He attempted to gain citizenship to the Choctaw Indian Nation in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma. but was not successful and he died before the trials were over. Hope this whits you desire for more of you history.
