    1. [BOTTOM-L] 1830 Census, Rutherform Co

    3. Debbie, Harvey and Group In spite of my reading column number for house number the data mostly fits for Sterling H and John R to brothers and probably sons of Old John. In 1830 Sterling H shows to have been born between 1800-1810. The 1850 census indicates 1803. His wife shows the range 1810-1815. The 1850 census, county copy indicates 1812. In 1830 John R shows to have been born between 1800-1810. He was dead before the 1850 census but his wife, Nancy Jordon, shows the range 1810-1815. The 1850 census indicates 1812. Their oldest son John A shows the range 1825-1830. The 1850 census indicates 1829. His birthday was Aug 1829. The only flaw would be Old John. The 1830 census indicates the range 1760-1770. The 1850 census indicates he was born in 1775. Paschal, whom I think is a brother, was born about a year after Sterling. Wilson county is adjacent north to Rutherford county. His children's names indicates same family. One of his sons was Sterling. Another name to throw into the mix is the Pilon family. With John R dead in 1850 and Nancy living with her brother, John A is living with the Pilion family. They were cousins of the Bottoms family and were also from VA. Some of the Pilions were to AR with the Bottoms. John A's sister married a Smith in AR and when she died Mr Smith married one of the Pilion family. Harvey, Paschal will be a mark on someones census in 1830. If he was not the head of household he was only a mark. His oldest child was 38 in 1850 which may indicate a marriage about 1831. My thinking may be all wrong, it has been before, but I think we are getting there. Thanks again Debbie for your work. Tom Baird
