Hello Bottom Researchers, I am trying to find out information Mary Bottoms. She was born abt. 1778 daughter of Thomas and Sarah Oliver Bottoms. She was married 1) Briggs and 2) Rev. Thomas Smith. (Thanks Jim Lantrip for the above info). My questions is - on the 1850 Cocke County, TN census Mary is listed with her husband and the following children: |===========|=======|===== SMITH Thomas 78 M VA Minister 2000 (of the Primitive Baptist Church) 764-794 Mary 76 F VA I Sarah 30 F TN I Mary 29 F TN I Thomas 27 M TN Farmer Thomas 17 M TN Farmer My GGGGrandfather is supposed to be the Thomas Smith (age 17). I don't believe that Mary Bottoms is his mother (because of her age). Can anyone PLEASE help me in figuring out this one! I know that Mary Bottoms and Thomas Smith also had the following children: John L. Smith b. 1807 m. Sarah Mason Mary Smith b. abt. 1815 m. Jake Palmer Lydia Smith b. 1815 m. John Holt James L. Smith b. 1820 m. Elizabeth Cluck Sarah Smith b. abt. 1820 unmarried My Thomas L. Smith married Margaret (Mary) Cluck and had the following children: Frank(lin) Pierce, Julia A., and Alies.
