    1. [BOTTOM-L] Wilson/Rutherford group
    2. Harvey L. Bottoms
    3. Here is a compilation of the Rutherford/Wilson County Bottoms and my Bottoms as they moved to Gibson/Obion/Lauderdale? Counties that I did for my aunt. I send it to you to see if you can help me fill in the individuals that I don't know about. Does anyone claim the Bottoms, Robert and William, that I have in the 1870 census in Lauderdale? The William is the right age for Paschal H.'s William. If anyone has any comments, please let me know. I did not take time to analyze much of John R.'s family which I know several of you can fill in some of the blanks for him. 1. 1830 Rutherford Census a. John (50-60) and wife 40-50) and daughter (15-20) don't know who she is yet. This could be Sarah who married John N. Rains 3/16/1839 in Rutherford County. b. John R. (20-30) and wife (15-20) with John M. (under 5). c. Sterling H. (20-30) and Matilda (15-20). d. I think that Paschal could be in Martin Kea's household. He had the following in his household - male 1 40-50; 2 20-30; 1 15-20 and 1 under 5; females 1 40-50; 2 10-15 and 1 under 5. It is definitely Paschal's age and fairly close to Margaret's age (depending if 1813 is correct) No Kitty here, unless Martin was without wife, but she could have been in another household. 2. 1840 Wilson Census a. Paschal is listed twice. Once as Paschal H. and once as Paskel H.. Occupants are the same except for a female between the age of 15 and 20 is there in one of them. Please note this: had 2 sons 5-10 and 3 sons under 5. Note 1850 census!! b. Geraldus males 1 70-80(Geraldus's, John's and Armsted's father?); 1 50-60; females 1 10-15; 1 20-30; 1 70-80(Geraldus's, John's and Armsted's mother?). (Believe him to have died prior to 1850 census most likely about December, 1844) He married Emily M. Spinks 6/4/1840 in Wilson County. Geraldus may have purchased land on Stones River which is just south of Fall Creek on October 9, 1834; his land was sold about Jan/Feb 1845, and c. Armstia (shows Armsted) in index males: 1 50-60 (probably John's brother); 1 15-20; 1 5-10; females: 1 40-50; 1 5-10) Not for sure where they lived in Wilson County. Everybody here is agriculture. 3. 1840 Rutherford Census a. John (our old John) who lost his wife between 1830 and 1840 is between 60 and 70. (Agriculture) b. Starling H (30-40). & Matilda (20-30) and girl between 10 and 15. (Manufacturer/Trader) Who is this girl? c. John R. (20-30) with wife (20-30); 1 son and 1 daughter (5-10); 2 sons and 1 daughter (under 5) - believed to be brother/cousin to Paschal/Sterling. (Manufacturer/Trader) d. John M. (son of John R.) (15-20) with wife (15-20); 1 son and 1 daughter (5-10) and 2 daughters under 5. (Agriculture) 6. 1850 Rutherford Census a. Sterling H. 47 , shoemaker; Matilda 38; and John 75. b. John N. 39, Overseer born VA; Martha 35 born VA; Mary 15 born VA; Lucretia 13 born TN (married George A. Barnes 3/8/1854 in Rutherford County); Sarah 10 born TN; Davis 8 born TN; George 6 born TN and Nancy 1 born TN Who is he? c. John Bottoms 21 Farmer born in TN in the household of Robert Pilon. Who is he? d. Nancy Bottoms 38 (wife of John R. who is dead now) in the household of David Jordon with children James 17 and Elizabeth 8 e. Questions. Where is John M?
