The State of Texas Van Zandt County Know all men by these presents that I J T Hamm Sheriff of Van Zandt County for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and Eighty Seven Dollars and fifty cents ($387.50) to me in hand paid by Z Bottoms of said State and County the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto Z bottoms the following described tract of land Situated in Van Zandt County levid on by me as the property of N B Moon to satisfy an Execution issued out of the District Court of Van Zandt County on the 7th day of Dec 1878 in favor of Z Bottoms and against N B Moon in the Sum of three Hundred and Eighty seven dollars and fifty cents ($387.50) besides interest and cost said levey havign een made by me on the 9th day of December 1878 and said land being advertised for sale by posting Notices at three Public places in Van Zandt County one of which was at the Court House twenty days prior to sale day and on the first Tuesday in Jany 1879 the same being the 7th day thereof the said land was offered for sale at Public outcry at the Court House Door within the hours prescribed by law and was sold to the said Z Bottoms for the sum of Three hundred and Eighty seven Dollars and fifty cents ($387.50) he being the highest and best bidder Said land being one hundre dand ninety acres more or less of the Wheat survey situated in Van Zandt County Beginning at the SE Corner of a survey of 100 acres Sold to Mary J Moore Thence S to E corner of original Survey Thence W 125 vrs branch at 605 vrs a post oak vrs S 19 E 13 vrs Thence S 700 vrs a Hickory (and then I don't have the rest of this - but you get the gist - No Periods in the entire document) ---------- The State of Texas County fo Van Zandt Know all men by these presents that I James Phillips of the County of Henderson and State of Texas in consideration of the sum of three hundred and forty five dollars to me paid by Z Bottoms of the State and County first above written have bargained granted sold and by these presents do bargain grant sell and release unto the siad Bottoms the following described tract of land Viz: 480 acres out of the C A Forejoy (sp) 640 acre Survey in said State and County of Van Zandt and adjoining theW C Henderson 1281 acre Survey, beginning at the N corner of Section 177 a post from which an elm 14 in in dia vrs W 85 deg E 2 8/10 vrs another 18 in dia vrs N 72 W 1 8/10 vrs Thence N 45 W 420 vrs to Caney Creek 1889 vrs to corner a post oak 19 in dia vrs N 37 1/2 W 24 vrs another 30 in dia vrs 672 W 19 2/10 vrs. Thence S 45 W 95 E to Dle Meltons corner. Thence S 45 E 944 1/2 vrs to Dle Meltons E corner. Thence S 45 W to 956 vrs to Dle Meltons S Corner. thence S 45 E 944 1/2 vrs to corner from which a Red Oak 13 in dia vrs S 67 W 5 8/10 vs another 13 in dia vrs S 50 1/2 E 5 vrs. Thence N 45 E crossing Caney Creek 1912 vrs to the place of beginning. Together with all the rights here ditaments (sp) and appurtenances to the same. to have and to hold to him the said Bottoms his heirs and assignes forever and I the said Phillips bind myself my heirs and legal representatives to forever warrent and defend the title to the same agains all persons whom soever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof.
