The only information I could find was a land sale. Bk 15 P 161 Nov. 26 1778 Amelia Co. Va. "Thomas Bottom Jr. and Sarah sells .... tracks of land he bought in Nottoway Parish and a track which is residue of 300 acres surveyed from Robert Taylor by Edward Taylor conveyed to Ambrose Estis and by said Estis to his brother Abram and big abram Estis to Thos. Bottom, Father of said Thomas. The above Thomas Bottom Sr. had a daughter named Frances The last information I have is she was married to a man named Charles.Coghill and had children Fanny and Thomas. She could possibly be your Frances. I you have or find information concerning this family please put it on the Bottom-L list. I have a number of Bottom(s) in my family. Please check my home page and if there are any matches drop me a line. If my Thomas Bottom(s), born 13 Aug 1854 in TN, rings a bell, check out the link to the Family Photo Album. There are a couple pictures of Thomas and his family. -- Jim Strickland <jimstr@slip.net> Jim Strickland's Family Tree http://www.slip.net/~jimstr

I go back to John R Bottoms of Murfresboro TN who was the Father of John A Bottoms who moved to AR with his family. John R's background shows VA as does the other two. We are grasping at straws and hoping to find something. Tom Baird (My mother was a Bottoms.)
Fred, that could be a lot of information - give us some clues....father, grandpa, grandma - locations...dates Thanks, Susan
Does anyone have any information on these two BOTTOMS regarding their Virginia roots. Both appeared in the 1850 Tennessee census, Paschal in Wilson County and Sterling in Rutherford County. Both showed to be born in Virginia.
Please turn your colors or whatever off. The Digest is coming thru red and I'm nearsighted and anythin red is hard to read. Jeanette
Harvey - I have seen the names in the Tennessee census but I do not know anything about their parents. I have gone through all my notes and charts and can't find anything that connects to Paschal or Sterling. I'll watch for them in further research. Susan Kelly
Frances Sawyer: The information that I have on Thomas Bottom that MAY be your Thomas is as follows ------------------ !Will book 2X page 125 Amelia Co. Va. Will of Thomas Bottom May 10 1765 Probated Oct 1765 Ch. To Thomas Bottom residuary legatee and Executor Jane Vaughn. To Grand children Francis Warshim Mary Hubbard. Witnesses: Geo. Brooks, Wm. Brooks, John Ford. Security of Thos. Bond as Executor, John Ford. Perhaps some other can help more. Jim Lantrip. I would speculate that Thomas' wife might have been a Ford. or Brooks. -----Original Message----- From: Frances Sawyer <fs81215@navix.net> To: BOTTOM-L@rootsweb.com <BOTTOM-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, March 13, 1998 10:05 PM Subject: [BOTTOM-L] VA-Amelia, Brunswick Co Snip
