    1. Henry Bot in Lancaster County
    2. Carolyn Cripe
    3. I have been wrestling with my mother's paternal line for some time, the same line that my aunt, an avid genealogist, found a dead end. The surname is PUTT, but I have come to believe that the name was originally BOTT, BOTH, BOTS, or something similar, spelling being what it was. In the 1760's to 1780's there was at least one Henry BOTT (var. sp. on both first and last names) and his wife Elizabeth having children being baptized at First Reformed Church in Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA. I believe one of those children was my ggggrandfather Jacob, whose name I have seen spelled variously, including POTH. Does anyone on this list know of Henry (Heinrich, Hendrik, etc.) Bott (Both, Bots, etc.) in Pennsylvania?
