    1. [BOTT] William Bott, Notts/Staffs, born 1850
    2. Lesley Bayston
    3. I am trying to find the birth of William Bott. William married 17.1.1871 as William Bott, aged 20, bachelor, Miner, in Pinxton parish church after Banns to Emily Knowles. On the marriage certificate his father is Thomas Whitehouse a brush maker. They had 11 living children In a newspaper cutting of his death in 1933 it states he was born in Walsall. The 1881 census says he was born Stafford county of Staffs, 1891 and 1871 both just say Staffs. William Bott died 24.12.1933 aged 83 He had a brother Charlie, and when William was about 7 his mother died and the 2 boys went to live in Mansfield (Notts) with relations. He was Primitive Methodist. I cannot find him on either the birth indexes, or on the 1861 census - as either Bott or Whitehouse. I wondered if anyone had come across him in their searches?
