Yesterday, Frances Bott put out a message about the Bott family from Montville TWP, Morris Co., NJ. I have a William Bott b. 1796 in Leicestrshire, England and his wife Frances Ashley Bott, b. 1798 same place. They came over from England in about 1826 with their son George (age 1), and settled in Montville. They had several other children after moving to Montville including Walter and William. He died in 1869 and she died in 1880. They are buried behind the current Montville United Methodist Church. George married Christina Hopper and moved to Newark. Walter Ashley Bott married Sarah Crane. William Bott, Jr. married Maria Freeman (also buried in Montville).
