MASSACHUSETTS GENEALOGICAL COUNCIL (MGC) The Massachusetts Genealogical Council (MGC) acts as a frontline advocate to the genealogical community, monitoring legislation relating to vital records and working to ensure the public's right to access. The MGC has been working steadily on these issues for 20 years, providing an important resource for family history research and education. MGC membership is open to all interested individuals and organizations. Society members include national as well as local societies. These society members send a delegate to the MGC board meetings, providing timely information about Massachusetts records. Check with your society about MGC participation or join as an individual. There is a bonus of reduced seminar admission for MGC members and this year's annual Meeting and Seminar program is a block-buster! The cost, including lunch, is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Non-members may join at this time by sending $27.50 ($7.50 for 2002 individual annual membership dues plus the seminar admission price of $20 for members).
