    1. [BOSTON] AMARU or MILANO Photography Studio in Boston's North End
    2. In researching my family history, I found that some family members had their own Photography Studio located at 3 North Square, 3 & 5 Prince Street. I was wondering if anyone on the list ever came across this studio as a place where your family pictures were taken....The information I have is as follows: 1910 Federal Census, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, ED#1332, Ward 6 (Part of), Precinct 4 (Part of) Taken: April 15th, 1910. Calogero Amaru & Teresa Milano ? [possibly] 3 Prince Street Lelly Amaro, head, male, white, 29, married, married one year, born in Italy, parents born in Italy, immigrated 1907, alien, speaks Italian, no English, photographer, own shop, paid on own account, is currently working, doesn’t read or write, lives by rent (house), 1,7,6,X Teressina Amaro, wife, female, white, 19, married, married one year, born in Italy, parents born in Italy, immigrated , 1909, alien, speaks Italian, no English, doesn’t work, doesn’t read or write, I believe this couple to be Cologero AMARU and Teresa MILANO. Teresa is my grandfather's first cousin. The ages and years of immigration match their Ellis Island records even though the first names appear to be slightly different (a different spelling of Teresa and instead of Cologero it looks like Lelly). Here is the Ellis Island records: Cologero Amaru & Teresa Milano, arrived at Ellis Island on August 19, 1909, on the ship “Regina D Italia” sailing from Naples, Campania, Italy. Calogero Amaru, 28, male, married, occupation title is obscured, hard to make out, musician? Or merchant? Or something like that with the first letter “M” but it doesn’t look like mason. Reads and writes, last lived in Pietraperzia, left “nobody” behind. Going to Boston, Mass., to 3 North Square with “family” [no family member named]. With him is his wife Teresa Milano, 18, female, married, housewife, also resided in Pietraperzia where she left her father Filippo Milano behind. She is also going with her husband to “family” at 3 North Square, Boston, Mass. Cologero paid for his trip himself as did his wife, Cologero states he has been to America before, 1907-1909, in Boston. Teresa Milano never been to America. You can see that the ages of this couple and the immigration years match that of the 1910 Census. Has anyone ever heard of this photographer? There were other AMARU family members who were also working at this place, Placido AMARU & Michele MILANO. Thanks, Ken Milano
