DeAnne: You have posted this query several times to the list over the past few months. I do not believe you are going about this the correct way. The Boston City directories only give you the name, address and sometimes occupation of any given individual. Therefore, the Boston City Directory is not going to tell you if Remi and Emily are Louise's parents. Even if they are all listed under the same house or living on the same street, you cannot make assumptions to their relationship. What you need to do is either find the family living together in the 1880 census or trace them through vital records. These records will tell you the relationship to Louise (if any). Vital Records in Massachusetts are open to the public and easily researched (especially with such unique names). You should try to locate Louise's birth, marriage or death record to determine her parent's names. If they turn out to be Remi and Emily, you can then locate their records and go backwards. Obituaries are also good sources for giving relations. But the City Directories, while helpful info, isn't going to give you what you want. Jerry
