Hi , I noticed Bob is researching HANSEN/ HANSON in the Boston area . I know through research that there were many. 1880 my g-grandfather Herman Magnus HANSEN(born 1868 / 1869 Denmark) arrived in the US likely with his parents (unknown) considering he was only 10 or 11 years old , no naturalization papers have ever been found for him so it has been summized that his naturalization occured through his father's citizenship. I have been unable to find parents . In 1900 census of Boston, he was m. 3 years to g-grandmother Dorthea J. Pettersen (born in Lenvik,Troms,Norway 1873) at 303 Norfolk Ave., surname spelled by enumerator was HANSON and again in 1920 Everett,Middlesex,MA at Mt.Pleasant Veiw St., again spelled with "O" instead of E. Their children were : Frank - b. 28 March 1900 Boston,MA (my grandfather) d. 25 Nov. 1978 He 1st m. Hazel Winchester between 1920-21 - and resided at 5 Nichols St, Chelsea, MA .... they had a son : Truman -- where abouts unknown . Peter b. May 1903 , died I think 1948 and is buried with parents at Woodlawn Cemetery ,Everett ,MA He was self -employed as a painter/wallpaperer , but during the depression worked for the WPA . m. I believe Doris Pratt ??? Had a son Peter and 2 daughters . and this in a nutshell is what I have on the HANSENs in my family. Do you suppose there could be any link?
