Hello, my name is Heike Carlsson, I´m living near Hamburg in Germany. For many years, I´m researching my family-history in Sweden and Germany- now I´ve got a question to the Boston list: I´m looking for Gustaf Adolf Johansson who was born at 1891 August,1st in Vissefjärda parish/Sweden. His parents were Johan August Carlsson and Mathilda, born Petersdotter. He left Sweden from the port of Gothenborg July 25 th, 1911 with the ship s/s Bayardo and his first destination was Hull/England. October 3rd, 1911 he arrived with the ship R.M.S. Franconia in Boston.He was accompgnied by a friend in the same age: John Johansson (no, they were not related!) who was born in Vissefjärda, too. I´ve got a copy of the passengers list: They wanted to go to a friend: August Ni(c)klasson 653 Massave. (or Massachusetts again?) Boston/Massachusetts Gustaf Adolf wasn´t found in the census 1920/Massachusetts. I know, I´m searching the needle in hay but perhaps there is anyone with an idea? Hello Heike, I looked in a 1920 Boston directory and your Gustaf is not there. Having enough haystacks myself,I followed my own ancestors route and came up with these two names.I don't know if they will be of any help to you,but it sure doesn't hurt to send!
