You have to go by county ... for instance, if she died in Boston Proper (within the city environs) that would be Suffolk County. But in my experience, most all of my relatives have "Boston" on birth, death and marriage certificates, even if they lived in Roxbury, Cambridge or Dorchester or Brookline, etc., etc. Do you know where in Boston she lived? As in what street? That would help narrow the search if you aren't sure she lived in Boston Proper (and not many people did or do). Lemme know and I'll try to help you out.
