You need to understand. Roxbury and Dorchester are simply a section of Boston since 1868 and 1872 respectively. Cambridge is a separate city and has always been so and Brookline is a separate town. Roxbury, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Roslindale, etc in the City of Boston are in Suffolk Co., Brookline is in Norfolk (Dedham Probate Court) and Cambridge is in Middlesex (Middlesex Porbate Court in Cambridge.)
