Northampton St. is on the other side of Mass Avenue. While not too far from this area, it's still at least 10-12 blocks away and there are many churches in between. I used to live in the South End not too long ago, though I never made it over to Northampton St. The character of the neighborhood changes drastically once you cross over Mass. Ave. and Northampton was always written up in the police log of the neighborhood paper.
