I've been lurking around for a while, but now it's time to post my surname. At least one of my relatives, an Edward Hedlund settled in Boston during the 1880s. He worked in a shoe factory, although I don't know what as. He began life as Gustave Edward Lindquist. He married Albina Alberta Turnquist and had three daughters: Edith, Ruth and Svea.
