Boston has long been a Hub of Genealogy, Technology, and History. It is of particular note that many developments in recent years have led to a convergence of these disciplines. These issues are especially important to the millions of new family history researchers who have been introduced to genealogy through the internet and are now interested in both the traditional scholarly methodologies and the new scientific opportunities afforded by genetics. Several longitudinal medical studies based on genealogy research may now be expanded with genetics technology. This also has a long term potential for reducing health care costs by providing family history in a way that would make testing and treatment for diseases a more efficient and effective process.
