Melleray, Waterford, Ireland John was the first of the family to come to Massachusetts from Ireland. He came with his siblings Patrick, Kate and Laurence O'Donnell. They left a red headed sister behind in Ireland. John settled in Boston, Mass. where he married and raised a family. He suffered a stroke as a young man and lost his memory. His son Louie took him back to Ireland on Doctor's orders to see if it would help him. When they returned he was better but had lost his Irish brogue. It was such a struggle to get here, that the family didn't talk much about their early days in Ireland. He was a professional dancer in Ireland.
