Bob, I hope this web site may help with cemeteries to try. Good Luck http://www.rcab.org/archives/sacrec/cemetery.html Aine
Bob, St Mary's RC Church was in the North End of Boston, Prior to Most Holy Redeemer being built in EB in 1850's, it was where many attended. Cemetery of that period most likely Bunker Hill Catholic cemetery in Charlestown. Archdiocese of Boston archives has original sexton's records. Good luck. Tom
Bob Don't know if this is any help as my geography of Boston area is fairly poor to say the least, but my PEERS family who lived at East Boston and whose children appeared to have been Christened also at St. Mary's Catholic Church were buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden Mass. Hope this may help. Regards Joy Light

Seeking information on two people who lived in Boston in the early part of the last century and at least until 1930: JOHN W. CONNELLY, an ATTORNEY who represented my grandfather in court...my g'father was a bit of a gangster...really! I would like to know more about John W. Connelly, like if he was high priced attorney or got paid by the city to represent indigents. JACOB RUBINSKY, a GROCER from Russia. A Yiddish family that included his wife Mollie and his children Sarah, Mary and Joseph. (Joseph born 1901, died in Brighton 8/23/76...would like to see his obituary). Jacob posted $1,000 bail for my grandfather in 1923; my grandfather skipped town so I'm assuming Jacob lost his $1,000! Did Jacob regularly post bail for gangsters or could there be a connection between this man and my Sicilian/Catholic grandfather? Any information on these people will be appreciated. Please e-mail me off-list at kellen2000@juno.com Many thanks. Michele Heiderer Arlington WA

Thanks, for those of us who don't live in the area, could you please suggest how to do this? I would be happy to pay for it.
I am searching for information about the family of James J. MAHONEY who is listed on his son Thomas Joseph's (b. 25 Feb 1911) birth certificate as having been born in Boston. I have a mass card listing a James MAHONEY who died 23 Mar 1942 and believe this is the same person. According to Thomas Joseph's birth certificate, his mother was Annie MULKERIN who also was born in Boston. Place of birth and residence of parents are listed as the same: 198 Fourth Street, Boston, MA. James is listed at being a Night Watchman on the R.R. As far as I know, there were three children to this couple. Thomas Joseph, Edward, and Dorothy. Thomas was a Boston Police Detective and I had heard that his brother Edward was also a police officer. Dorothy married a TEAHAN. According to Thomas' address book, Dorothy TEAHAN lived at 1262 Columbia Road, South Boston, MA. Anne MAHONEY is listed as also living there. Mrs Edw. MAHONEY is listed as living at 10 Logan Way, South Boston, MA and Sgt. Edward MAHONEY's listed address is Box 165 Branch 3 A.P.A.A.F. Avon Park, Florida. I have another document that mentions Thomas J. MAHONEY of 300 1/2 Broadway was the son of Annie MAHONEY and had been a prison officer at Bridgewater and was the nephew of Thomas MAHONEY, a parole officer for the MA State Dept. of Corrections. Also noted was Thomas' brother Edward who was serving in the service. If anyone is connected with this family I would love to hear from them.

I have just learned of a pirate named Peter Rodrigo who was tried and pardoned in Boston in the late 1600s. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more about this man? Floreda
Right now the only way I know of to get the information is to go to the Bureau of Vital Statistcis and pay to get in and do the research yourself. Here is the info off their site. Maybe they have another way: Specific Information The Registry of Vital Records and Statistics maintains no indexes or records on the Internet. Records are only available on site at the Registry offices or at the city or town where the event occurred. Note that ONLY CERTIFIED COPIES of records are issued by the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics, regardless of intended use. For general information about research at the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics, call (617) 740-2600. For specific questions about the use of public indexes, the examination of records, extracting information from public records, record restrictions, and genealogical research facilities, call (617) 740-2600 or email vital.recordsrequest@state.ma.us

Hello All, I'm looking for the least expensive way to have notes taken from the 1912-1923 marriage index at the Mass. Hi, I am new to this list. I am just starting to research another branch. I looking for anything I can find on Viola Imondi Parker and later she married McDonough, I know in the 1940's she lived in Roxbury. There was one daughter named Cecelia, and eventually she married a Townsend. At some point after 1960 or so she was in Somerville. My lines were orignally in Salisbury Maryland, and at some point the brother of my deceased father moved to Roxbury, was married to Viola in Ayre, Ma. on 6/2/1941. (Anyone know how I can get the marriage record)\ I got alot of this information from the Deceased file from the Army. Thurman Franklin Parker died while serving in WW2. I am absolutely new to MA research, so I would be thrilled if anyone can point me in the right direction.
