    1. [BOSTON] Lynch - Gordon, Robert, Ann
    2. I have a photo, professionally taken, circa 1890-1900, of Anne Lynch and two boys, Robert and Gordon, who appear to be about 5-6 years old. I am not sure if Anne is their grandmother or mother. They are well dressed; Anne is in a long outfit and wearing a hat. I believe these folks are related to the McGoverns; James and Roseanna who were born @ 1850 in Ireland; James later ran a saloon in Boston. Daughters were Annie McGovern Hodge; Catherine McGovern Lynch; Gertrude McGovern Swensen. I would be delighted to send a copy of this pnoto to anyone who is interested and would like to share info we may have in common about these families. Thanks Susan Toomy in Daytona Beach FL

    3. I have a delema and hope SKS might be able to help me out. I am unable at this time to go to my FHC to check any birth or death indexes. I would be willing to return the favor using any resources I have available to me, such as Census Index CD's or my subscription to Ancestry.com. My great aunt and Uncle Fred Michaels and Elizabeth Theis-Michaels, had a child who drowned. I am unable to locate the birth or death of this child, and I do not know the child's name. I THINK it was a boy. I believe this child was born between the years of 1916-1923. I have a listing of 3 of their children and the years they were born. Marie, born 1916 Fred, born 1923 Jeanette, born 1925. Fred and Elizabeth were married in 1915. I know this child was born and died before the youngest Jeanette was born in 1925. Fred and Elizabeth are buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton MA. They are buried alone, not with this child. I have called the cemetery to see if they had a Michaels child buried there, and they were unable to help me. The Michaels family lived on Bennett Street atleast by the the time Fred was born. I think they moved there shortly after Marie (their oldest) was born. This child did have a name by the way, I just do not know what it was. I think he/she might have died around the age of 3 or 4, but not 100% sure of that. 2. I am new to the list and am wondering if anyone can help. My gggrandfather was Patrick T. Walsh born in Ireland (abt. 1846). I don't know where in Ireland or when he came to Boston. His parents were Thomas and Mary. He married Margaret Moylan in Boston 11/10/1872. They lived in Roxbury, and had at least 5 children Catherine, Thomas, William J., Margaret, and Mary. Patrick died in 1890. Margaret Moylan was born in Ireland abt. 1849. Her parents were John and Catherine. She died in 1907. Patrick and Margaret, and their daughter Margaret are buried at Calvary Cemetery in Mattapan. The name on the deed to the plot was John Moylan. I don't know for sure if that was her father. Does anyone know of any of these people? Or any Moylans or Walshes in Roxbury? Thanks for any assistance.

    3. >Using my subscription to Ancestry, I accessed the census and E.D. 742. >Boy was I suprised to find that it did not show any names or Streets. >Everything was blank until it got to the relationship column. -Yes, and unfortunately the microfilm for this Cambridge, Middlesex County E.D. also does not have names or addresses. The space for the enumerators name says Office . Here is what is written on a small piece of paper attached to Sheet 1A of this E.D. -----------------------. (Hand printed by a left handed writer) Memo from Evelyn L. Yoeman, June 1, 1940 (Typed) Cambridge City (pt) Ward 1 Precinct 1 E.D. 742, S.D. 1 Mass. 1910 Vol 59 The returns of this E.D. are in red and since the initials of some of the clerks of the Geographers Division appear threreon, they are evidently copies made in this Division. The names of all individuals enumerated are omitted but the data appear to be complete. No information concerning this has been found in our records. Memo. To Miss Oursler from ELY 8/22/3(6?) Rate B Paid $85.43 for population $2.10 for Barns (total) $87.53 Voucher 16,755 Worked 15 days 3 hours 35 Minutes Population 3,424, barns 21 (Hand printed on the side of the memo by the same person as above.) Examined Supervisor correspondence for Mass. but could find no information regarding this E.D. Mary C. Oursler, June 3, 1940 -----------------------. -The location you are looking for, Steven Ct, is in this ED which goes from Lechmere Square near the Museum of Science out a few blocks to about 6th and Otis. MapQuest doesnt come up with Stevens Ct as an address but if you use an address close by, 100 Gore St, and drill in you will see Stevens Ct. -You might have good luck finding your parties in the 1910 era Cambridge directories which were published for a long time before and after this time. 1. [BOSTON] Battle of Breed's Hill information
    2. Mde
    3. I was told by another researcher that my ancestor Wilbert WATKINS died at the Battle of Breed's Hill June 17, 1775. His son Jonathan was supposedly born in Chester County, Pennsylvania at Valley Forge in 1761. He also supposedly served during the Revolution. I would like documentation that Wilbert WATKINS did die at the Batlle of Breed's Hill. I have not been able to find anything from an Internet search nor from limited resources available here in Indiana. Does anyone have access to records of those who fought and or died in this battle? Or can anyone direct me to a place that has this information? 1. [BOSTON] 1910 census glitch
    2. Janet Brown
    3. I have been trying to locate a family, presumably cousins, who lived in Cambridge in 1910. I have the address. With the help of the Boston library I was able to narrow it down and find the the E.D. (I think). Using my subscription to Ancestry, I accessed the census and E.D. 742. Boy was I suprised to find that it did not show any names or Streets. Everything was blank until it got to the relationship column. It wasnt like a piece of paper was placed over it..it looks like they forgot to fill in the blanks. I thought for sure it was a glitch with Ancestry so I emailed them...you can't talk to a live person..but all I got back was a form response. I was going to order it through the library but they suggested I try to find out if it was really filmed like this before I go to the expense and time of ordering it. Does anyone have access to the 1910 census for Cambridge that could check it out for me. It appeared there were a lot of Russian immigrants in that E.D. as opposed to the rest so my luck it is the one I need. I am looking for 8 E Stevens Ct, Cambridge and the name is Aronson. I would appreciate any help I can get. Janet Brown Jacksonville, Fla
