    1. [BOSTON] LYNDS, Aubry and Lewis
    2. Donovan's
    3. Hello, I have just subscribed to this list. I am looking for information on an Aubry and Lewis LYNDS. They were born 1891 and 1893 respectively in Colchester County, Nova Scotia. I don't know exactly when they moved to the Boston area but 1910 would be the earliest as Aubry would have been only 19 at the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. 3. To have an elusive ancester is a frustrating ordeal. My gggreatgrandfather Asaph BLAISDELL m. ?Sally CLOWE PAGE BLAISDELL.of Boston. One census 1830 ,NorthEnd Boston. I've researched all 6 children and one dau. by Sally PAGE'S first husband Benjamin PAGE Jr.m. 1809.Boston. Asaph and Sally's first ch.my gg, Jacob Clough BLAISDELL was b. 1822 m. Lydia BURDITT of Malden.2nd Marguerite LAWLER,of Roxbury Other,ch. Zilpha,m. Henry D. HUSTON, Aaron,d. 20 years old. John H.m. Susan BLODGETT of Bedford. William, m. Catherine MANNING. MaryAnn b. Dover. 1832.m. John F. BANNISTERSomerville. Three years ago I found ch. recorded in Bridgewater.,Ma. Asaph left no paper trail. He died outside of Ma. Sally ,his wife, died in Somerville.1857.I've researched her line of descent back to Robert BRONSDON 1600's Norfolk, England. I have graph from Everett Cemetary.20 ancestors, No Asaph'. Asaph is an unique name. Zilpha's death certificate states Asaph was b. in Chelmsford. The b.date would of been in late 1700's. On Jacob's death ,it stated Asaph b. Manchester, Ma. I don't think there was a surname change. Anyone with any idea or early BLAISDELL'S from these areas, books that might have early info. I'm open to any help or ideas. BFNA. has no info on Asaph. Asaph paid taxes at 7 Hanover Ct. in NorthEnd. till 1849.His name wasn't listed in Suffolk Registry of Deeds. Then Sally was pencilled in till 1862. Erastus Bartholemew owned property. I'll appreciate any assistance. Regards, Joan

    1. [BOSTON] obit for Andrew POLLOCK
    2. Harriet E Cady
    3. Hi Al, I was interested in reading your grandfather's files. My great Uncle, Andrew POLLOCK came from Ireland in the 1880's and settled in Cambridge, Mass. He was a carpenter and married Agnes Dunn. I know he died May 1, 1940 and is buried in Arlinton, MA. but have not been able to locate an obituary. I was hoping to find if he had children and or brother's who also came over. Have you any suggestions for finding his obit? 1. [BOSTON] city directories help
    2. Allyssa Edwards
    3. I'm trying to locate where in Boston, my grandparents lived in or about 1930. I've not had much experience searching city directories, so I'm not sure whats atually available. Felix Bertrand + Effie D'entremont were married in the late 20's early 30's, with 2 living children, by 1932. on my grandmothers birth record, and on their marriage record, it just lists residence as Boston. No street name or anything. I know they moved to revere, ma, by the 1940s/50s. My other grandparents, Ernest Arthur Edwards + Christina Mae McKinlay, came from Nova Scotia, in the late 1910s I believe. My grandfather and most of his siblings were born in boston ,and all records only give Boston as residence, also no street names. If I wanted ti find where these to familes were living in the late 1920/early 1930s, how would I go about finding that out? Are there any Boston directories for that era? If so , where can I research them? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 1. Re: [BOSTON] obit Thomas McCullough civil war vet (B 22 MA Regt)
    2. Bobbie Hall
    3. Hi Al, Don't know if this will help you at all, but in my own database I have 2 references to Ward 6 in Boston. The first is in the 1810 census, one of my Keen subjects, lived on "Second St., Ward 6", the entry was found on roll 21, p. 184 of the 1810 census. The second reference I have is from the 1850 census, where one of my Ritchie subjects lived in Ward 6. This was on roll 336, p. 420 of the 1850 census. The ward numbers probably changed, so you may want to try looking at the city directories for an appropriate year. If I remember correctly most of them had some sort of key to the Wards in the front? Other list readers may want to correct me on this. Cheers, Bobbie > Where would have been " ... the old Ward 6 in the North End ... 1. [BOSTON] Looking for MILANO from Boston and from Pietraperzia, Sicily
    2. Ken Milano
    3. Greetings! I am new to this list. I usually am researching in Philadelphia, but now I find a Boston connection. From the 1920 Census: 1920 Census Philip MILANO, wife Rosaria MARCA (or MORCA). living at 148 Salem Street, Boston, Ma. Children: two daughters, Lucille, 16 years, Frannie 12 years, one son, Micheal, 24 years, and his wife Marie 28 years. Immigrated in 1914, Michael came over in 1912. This Philip is my great grandfathers brother(Francesco the immigrant). I have Philip's birth certificate and marriage license, so i'm pretty sure this is the right Philip. His wife on the census and on the marriage license is Rosa or Rosaria. The age is about right, and Rosa's mothers first name is Lucia Viola. On the census they named their daughter Lucille, same as the mom's, and besides, I was told their was a Philip who went to Boston, but that's all they knew. Rosa's fathers name was Giorgio Morca (or Marca, i can't make out the writing). I was told that there is a store, I think it's a furniture store, in Boston, and one in Dennisport over by Cape Cod, named Barbos. A relative of mine (John MILANO) was visiting Cape Cod and talked with this fellow. Barbos mother was a Milano, who came from Pietraperzia, or something to that effect, but my relative (John MILANO) didn't know our MILANO's names (Philip and Rosa). It could be this chap's mother was Lucy or Frannie Milano. Also, I was told that a certain Knights of Columbus lodge use to be made up of a lot of Sicilians from Pietraperzia? Any help would be appreciated. Ken MILANO 2313 E. York Street Philadelphia, PA 19125

    1. [BOSTON] Look up for Edward Campbell in Boston 1941
    2. Patty
    3. Dear Listers: I have found out that my grandfather Edward Campbell lived in Boston at the time of his mothers death June 29, 1941. What i know is sometime in the 1930's my grandfather left my grandmother never to return. This is the first clue i have had on where he lived after he left Waterbury Conn in the late 1930's. Could someone do a city directory look up for him or give me any help on lookups for him from that time frame on. The years i would need would be from the late 1930's through 1941 and any dates after that. I don't have a clue how long he lived there or if he moved away at all. Any information would be wonderful. Address he lived at in 1941 possable new family he might have had, job he worked at anything would help me out. Is there any way to research some of this on my own? I am all the way on the west coast. Thank you so much for your time. Patty
