    2. Paul F.Foley
    3. Hi! I have a question that I hope someone can help me on. The Question is this: If a person who in 1906 became a US citizen under one name aka FRANCY. Then married a person under his original name of FRANZOSA say 5 years later. Would he still be able to be a US citizen? After he became US Citizen he used the name FRANZOSA not Francy. For Legal purpose would he still have to put Francy on the papers? or could he go by Franzosa? Still be legal? Thank you

    1. [BOSTON] Hoffman of Boston
    2. Craig
    3. I have a John and Mary Hoffman of Boston who purchased land in Barnstable in 1810. John was a merchant and the land was purchased of John Hallett. Probably not a coincidence, but John Hoffman was said to have married a Lois Hoffman but this record does not exist in the Barnstable town records. The Halletts at one time were the wealthiest people in Barnstable and owned much of Hyannis and were ship's captains and masters. But, can anyone identify these Hoffmans of Boston and shed some light? Thanks, Craig Crowell Baker Plymouth MA

    3. If this helps, it is not a Catholic church. The closest one would be St. James, which is at 125 Harrison Ave. I checked through my Catholic directory ... which includes info/addresses about closed churches, and there were none at that address. Another possibility, though is it could have been a justice of the peace location. I've found a number in downtown Boston area, where a Minister is listed ... (sometimes, it's called Minister of the Gospel) ... and they were JP offices. 3. It may have been a home wedding - I just finished recording one for my great-Grandmother for 125 Heath St which was the residence. The invitation was handwritten by her older brother The father had died Nov 1874 - and they had two others deaths in 1874 - wedding October 1875 - I think this was done out of respect .. the older sister and brother in law had lost a daughter age 2 and his Father ..traveled back from WI for all three in the 11 months prior to the wedding .. Hope this helps .. Mimi Taylor
