    1. [BOSTON] How to find a married sister in Roxbury with only maiden name?
    2. Ginny Chung
    3. I have been trying to find an elusive sister of my great grandfather. THULISH,CATHERINE Catherine Thulish was the godmother to Hannah Thulish O'Leary's daughter Margaret in 1880 in Boston at St. Francis de Sales. On another baptismal certificates it lists her married sister Maria under her maiden name. So although the baptismal certificate lists Catherine Thulish, she could be married. How to narrow down this search is a puzzle. In 1889 there was a Catharine McDonald who was godparent to Daniel's son John. Is this the same person? In a letter from Michael J Donohoe (nephew) to his sister Mary in 1892 he mentions visiting his Aunt Kate in Boston. Is this the same person? She may have a daughter Katie and Mary Ann. 1892 - I went down to Aunt Kate's last night and I had a great time. Katie and her chum Maurice Hickey bought a pair of corsets each and I took them away from them and made a bluff to put them on and there is where the fun began. I threw them all over the house and Mary Ann wanted to take my ring and I would not let her and the whole of them could not take it away from me. ... 1890 - Mammie Chinton and I was down the Sunday before last and we had a real nice time but just as we got down there they were going down to Aunt Kate's [???] I asked him how he like Boston he said he like it very much indeed and he is not going back to Lowell again. Given no last name, anybody have any ideas on how to locate this Catherine Thullish? She would have been born in Ireland between 1840-1862. She was Catholic. Her mother and 2 siblings lived in Boston in the same house. Kate did not live with them. She is not buried with them either. * I have checked marriage records in Massachusetts and came up with no matches. She was probably married outside of Massachusetts. * I've also checked the index of Catherine McDonalds looking for someone who may have a surname of Thullis or varied spelling up to about 1920 and came up with no matches. * I checked death index for Thullis/Tullis and varied spellings came up empty. I suspect they are living in Roxbury but have no proof. -- --- Ginny Chung <gchung@mindspring.com> Searching for COYLE, DONAHOE, DIRKSMEIER, FALLON, MANNING, MULLER, PLUMER, SCANLON, TULLIS out of Boston Searching for DONOGHUE, SKEFFINGTON, WARD, WHOLEY out of Lowell, Mass http://www.mindspring.com/~gchung/tree.htm - Main page http://www.mindspring.com/~gchung/CemeteryMain.html - Mass Cemetery Transcriptions ==============================================

    1. [BOSTON] 1940S WILL
    2. I confirm the lister who recommended the Suffolk Co Court at New Chardon St. I called that facility re my ggfather's 1945 will. I was directed to a very helpful woman who told me what to write, and to send 15 dollars, and I had the information in about one week. I didn't get the woman's name I'm sorry to say, but I just explained my mission to whoever answered the phone, and the rest was easy. I had put off the task foolishly believing that the staff at a big city courthouse would be curt and unfriendly. How wrong I was!! Sandy at bkworm26@aol.com

    3. You need to understand. Roxbury and Dorchester are simply a section of Boston since 1868 and 1872 respectively. Cambridge is a separate city and has always been so and Brookline is a separate town.
