On August 25, 1890, he moved to Austin to the Confederate Men's Home, but stayed only about a year. He returned to the Home on June 3 , 1910, but apparently left again, because on Dec 6, 1920 he applied for, and later received, a Confederate Pension from the State of Texas while living in Caldwell County. After his final return to the Home, JH died on July 6, 1926 and was buried in the Texas State Cemetery the next day. His daughter, 1. Cora Salmona BOST b.Nov 29, 1867 d Jul 07, 1957. She married a man named McDuffy Hunsucker. My grandfather had full dates for her, so she might have lived in Texas near family. I don't have anything on Charlie F. other than his name in my grandfather family tree work, and Charlie was the only child the Texas State Cemetery researchers would find to list as John Harvey's child. But, my grandfather didn't list him as a child! So, maybe he was a grandchild they found.? (The thing about genealogy is there are always mysteries to be solved). 2. Cynthia Ada Bost- b. Nov 29, 1867 d. Nov 24, 1947, married a man named Samuel Henry Davis, whose parents were from the Luling area (where my grandfather lived). His father was Clyde Davis, of Caldwell Co. Tx and mother was a Colwells, and they were a family in Luling Texas. I really don't know why the kids aren't on any record, but it seems like my grandfather did know them, and the families they married into. (of course, papa died 10 years ago...) My grandfather's name was also Jonathan David Bost, after the other JD Bost's in the family. He was b 1920, and moved to from Victory Co. Tx about 1930. The famly lived in Buda, which is close to San Marcos, and after he married in 1940? He moved to Luling. So I am pretty sure he knew Cynthia and Cora. My grgrgrgrandfather, Leander Sydney (John Harvey's brother) was also on the NC census, but is said to have moved to San Marcos Texas in 1881. I don't know exactly when Marcus Bost moved. Maybe he was the one who said how wonderful San Marcos Texas was to the others. (must have been better then..it is about 20 miles from where I live, and I want to see NC!) I am hoping that you can research the children through the family names I gave you. I know the Davis name was big in Luling at one time. So surely someone from there will be able to tell you something about them, and you can find Cynthia listed as a spouse. Hey, I have some easy families to research, and hard ones. All on my mother's side - I think they were hiding! Ha. Good Luck. And let me know if you find where anyone was hiding.
