    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bost Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UNF.2ACIB/245.1.1 Message Board Post: According to the dates you gave me it sounds like you have the right person. However, his wife's name was Sally not Sarah. According to a scan I was sent which I attached for you Jesse's will that provides for his wife, Matthew, and daughters was written in 1882 the same year as the deed for the house, so yes he was still alive at that time. The scan said that Jesse and his wife were buried in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetary of Claremont which is very close to the road Matthew's home is located on. A great great great great grandson of Elias Bost sent me the lineage info after I posted this message. Johannes Bast, ca 1719/20, Germany, 1777 Mecklenburg County, North Carolina + unknown 1st wife > William Bost + Catherine Goodhart> Elias Bost, 10/19/1772-5/2/1857, married Mary M. Ikerd , ca 1775-1841 > Jesse W. (Witherspon) Bost, 2/15/1804- 1/6/1892, married Sarah "Sally" Pelina Wilson on 5/9/1833 > Matthew Elcana Bost, married Laura Ada/Adah Alley on 8/20/1875 He said that because Catawaba County was formed in 1842 from a portion of Lincoln County, NC. the persons would be shown as born in Lincoln County, and dying and being buried in Catawba County. He said that William had a land grant, and as his sons married, they were given parts of the original grant on which they built their houses, and some are still standing, including those of Elias, Jonas, and Joseph. We bought Matthew's home last May and have been trying to restore it. Another house was added onto to the back of his house in 1967. I have a wbesite showing our renovation process with the house if you'd like to see Matthews home. http://luvinmyoldhouse.tripod.com Now because of what I have learned I am starting to wonder if this may have also been Jesse's house as well before Matthew owned it. It's confusing isn't it. Looking at the the scan I've already seen two people who were ancestors of mine that some of the Bost family married. I hope all this helps!
