I use the Buzzard surname as that is the name used most frequently in Westmoreland County, where I was born. Conrad is also 6 generations removed from me. I was able to confirm that Conrad's mother was a woman named Catharina (her name is found as Catrina in one census that I reviewed). I had found another researcher who claimed that Michael was the father, and that he died as a prisoner of the British in the Revolutionary war, but the spelling variations have prevented me from finding the service records. Catrina, however, was a widow in the censes record. I have a lot of information on the Buzzards in Westmoreland County. Actually, some of the family uses the surname Bussard. There is an online book on the History of Westmoreland County, by John Boucher, with several generations of history on the family. Google Books will allow you to preview it. W.H.Bussard is found on page 193. The book has several inaccuracies, including Conrad's birth year, but it does note that W.H.'s great-grandfather served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War in the colonial interests. If I could find the military records, I think I could make the connection. I hope this helps. I would be happy to correspond with you to sort through this matter.
