I've "rescued" an old photograph of W. DITTUS of Union Hills, IL which was taken at the J. H. Reed Studio in Fulton, IL. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Mr. DITTUS likely in his 20's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding two possible matches: Possible Match #1 William DITTUS was b. 18 Jul 1863 in Illinois to parents Jacob F. DITTUS (1832-1921) and Carolina BOSSERT (1837-1922). William was one of 13 children born to this family including, Mary Amelia; Emma; Julia; William; Elizabeth M.; John Fredrick; Albert C.; George; Louisa; Clara D.; David Clarence; and Franklin Raymond DITTUS all born between 1859 and 1882. William died 9 Feb 1958 in Hennepin, MN. Possible Match #2 William DITTUS was b. 31 Aug 1864 in Chester, IL to parents Georg Frederick or Friedrich DITTUS (1833-1916) and Sarah Anna HAGENBUCH (1840-1923). William was one of 5 children born to this couple including George Frederick; William; Charles Erhardt; Anna Marie; and Edward J. DITTUS. William married Emma Pabst MOHR (1870-1935) and together they had four children including, Esther Nora; Lelia A.; Karl Wilhelm; and Edward Frederick DITTUS all born between 1894 and 1904. William died 8 Aug 1936 in Mount Pulaski, IL. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I'm relatively new to genealogy but not to historical research. My great grandpa was Alfred Bossard (that's how his grandchildren spell it)who married Priscilla Musselman. He was born in Northampton county to I believe Charles and Anna Maria Bossard, whose parents were George (1805) and Elizabeth, but that is all I know, if I'm even on the right track. I'm recognizing many of the names on this board from names I've seen on the census for my ancestors and in my research. Alfred's grandchildren don't know much about him as he and Priscilla seem to have split up while their children were still young. I'm grateful for any help or advice. Thanks. I may have to do that. I descend from Conrad, through Jacob (b. 1801) who married Rachel Hart. They had a daughter, Matilda, who married Solomon Peters. I then descend from their son, Daniel and through the Peters family from Daniel's son, Solomon J. Peters, and his daughter, Margaret, who was my grandmother. Conrad, Jacob, Matilda and Solomon are all buried at Brush Creek Cemetery. Solomon J. Peters and his wife are buried at the Irwin Cemetery. I was born in Irwin, but have lived in Erie for the past 30 years. I'm not sure I know about Bill Oblinger, although I am certainly aware of the Oblinger family connection. Have you seen the 1790 Northampton County census. Catrina Buzard is shown on the same page as Nicholas, Elizabeth "Uplinger." Conrad would have been 15 at the time, so his name does not appear. But he subsequently married Maria Oblinger, so the proximity of the families at the time of the 1790 census is significant. I'd love to compare notes with you.
