"Skip" Bushon, 77, of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Lexington, Kentucky, died 2 July 2009 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born 20 June 1932 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Mildred and George Bushon. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sisters, Nancy Prickett Barger and Joan Lint. He is survived by by love of his life, wife Janice "Jan" Stewart Bushong; son, Scot Bushon of Louisville, Kentucky; daughters, Laurie Ash of Walton, Kentucky, Julianne Shewman (Jeff) of West Chester, Pennsylvania; Seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. George served in the Korean War at the age of 18. He attended Bethany College before receiving his B. A. from Duquesne University where he also attended graduate school. He was employed with Anaconda/ARCO. For the past 25 years George and Jan operated Sylvan Learning Centers in the Lexington area. Most recently he enjoyed his retirement in Hilton head, South Carolina. Besides Jan, George's greatest joy was gathering his family once a year at Sunset Beach for fun, relaxation and golf. His memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, 11 July 2009 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40205. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. ----------------------------- Sadly George's wife Janice died a month later.
