Good Morning Boschong Subscribers, A couple of weeks ago, I received the Probate records for Sarah Herrington in the mail from Vigo County. Sometimes her last name is spelled with an e and sometimes an a in the same document. There is nothing in the Probate that points Sarah back to Rockingham County, Virginia, but as I have said before, this does NOT rule her out as being the daughter of Jacob Bushong and Juliana Weigel which I suspect she is. Markle Volume 1 1931 - 1933 Page 119 On the 15th of August, 1836, the members of the Methodist Episcopal church, usually meeting at John Harrington's and Isaac Woolen's, met at Hiram Smith's to consider building a meeting house and elected Hiram Smith, William Stephenson, John Harrington Sr., Anthony M. Ostrander and William Woolen, trustees." Hiram Smith had lived in the northern tier of sections in Honey Creek and this may be the beginning of Mt. Pleasant church, as he is buried there.
