    3. Vigo County Indiana Probate Order Book 22 February 1890 - December 1890 Probate of Julia A. Herrington Pages 18 & 41 Friday, 21 February 1890 Friday Morning 9 o'clock 21 February 1890. Court met pursuant to adjournment. Present honorable William Mack, Sole Judge Probate of Will IN THE MATTER OF THE LAST WILL OF JULIA HERRINGTON DECEASED Come now in Open Court Samuel Royse and exhibits the last Will and Testament of Julia Herrington and produces John A. Pugh one of the Subscribing Witnesses who being examined by the court on his Oath Says, That Said Julia Herrington Signed her name to the writing exhibited of date of 3rd November 1885, as and for her last Will and Testament, and that the Same was Attested and Subscribed by the witness John A. Pugh and harry G. Thompson as Subscribing witnesses thereto in the presence of said Testatrix, and by her request and that Said Testatrix declared the Same, to be her last Will and Testament, and that Said Testatrix was not at the time of executing the Same, an infant, or of unsound mind or under Coercion. The Court having heard the evidence and being fully advised, finds that Said Will was duly executed; That the Testatrix at the time of executing the Same, was of Sound mind and that Said Testatrix was not an infant, nor under coercion And that Said Will ought to be admitted to Probate. It is therefore now by the Court, considered, Ordered and Decreed, that Said last Will and Testament of the Said Julia Herrington be and the Same in now admitted to Probate. Ordered that Court adjourn until tomorrow morning, 9 o'clock. ---------------- Thursday Morning, 9 o'clock 27 February 1890. Court met pursuant to adjournment. Present Honorable William Mack, Sole Judge. Comes now in Open Court, Isabella Stevenson and as Executrix of the last Will of Julia A. Herrington, files her bond in the Sum of Five hundred ($500) dollars, duly conditioned with Samuel Royse and John G. Shryer her Sureties thereon both made Oaths; That they were free holders of the State of Indiana and worth over and above their indebtedness. Said sum which said Bond was approved by the Court and thereupon the Said Isabella Stevenson was qualified as such Executrix. ---------------------- Vigo County Indiana Probate Order Book 23 18 December 1890 - 18 September 1891 Page 201 Final Settlement of Probate of Julia A. Herrington 11 March 1891 FINAL REPORT Belle Stevenson, Executrix of the Estate of Julia A. Herrington Comes now Said Executrix and files the following as her final Report herein, which report is in the following words and figures to Wit: $76.73 - Said Executrix charges herself with amount of Sale bill on file 194.85 - Received on Note held against John L. Redford 30.00 - To rents Received from William Colson 1000.00 - Received from Charles Harrington ------------- $1301.58 - TOTAL RECEIPTS And she asks Credits for Disbursements as follows: $500.00 - By self as per claim allowed 102.00 - By Isaac Bell, Undertaker 260.00 - By Mary C. Drakes's claim 15.00 - By Dr. Caldwell Medical services .25 - By William Byers 1.00 - By J. Hosea, Appraiser 1.00 - By J. A. Pugh, Appraiser 49.00 - By J. H. C. Royes, amount on loan and Ins. 1.50 - By E. Sherman, clerking Sale 12.00 - By W. Colson - Labor 2.00 - By J. J. Ferrel - Auctioneer .40 - By E. Cowdes 177.50 - By C. Herrington 44.08 - By taxes for the Year 1890 5.50 - By Road tax 3.30 - by E. Walmsley 10.00 - By S. Royse - Legal services 17.30 - By Clerk of Circuit Court 1.50 - By Moore and Longen, Sale Bill 50.00 - By Allowance to Executrix for services 48.25 - Leaving a Balance to be paid to Charles Harrington as per Will of Report filed --------------- $1301.58 - Balanced with Credits $1301.58 Said Report being verified by the Oath of said Executrix and examined by the Court the same is approved and Executrix discharged from further duty herein and her Sureties from fee the liabilities herein and that Said Estate be considered as fully and finally Settled. ------------------------------ Researched, Transcribed and Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong
