M. Bushong - Grape Creek, Vermilion County, Illiinois - 1886 Good Beautiful Morning Boschong Subscribers. RESEARCHING TIP OF THE DAY When researching your ancestors never be tied down with the location where they lived as your only resource for researching. Many times newspapers in other areas of the United States would pick up a story as "fill-in" and this and the Hall post are good examples. The article below was in a Nebraska newspaper but it concerned Andrew Moore Bushong living near Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. Also don't be tied down by one courthouse (particularly if it is a Civil Suit) as newspapers back then served notice about a legal matter through the newspapers. And if that suit was appealed, you may find the Court of Appeals in an entirely different county then where the suit was filed. ---------------- The Columbus Journal Columbus, Nebraska Wednesday, 24 March 1886 Page 2, Column 1 Michael Humphrey who was arrested as one of the supposed robbers of the train at Morris, makes his affidavit that on the night of the robbery and murder he was in Grape Creek, Illinois, and that on the morning of the 13th he went to work in a mine shaft at that place. He claims that J. Dougherty, A. M. BUSHONG, W. Judd and others can establish these facts. ---------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to BOSCHONG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
