John, I also thank you for the detailed summary. I had previously decided to do the DNA matching through Ancestry.com. I'm just starting to go through my matches. The great computer in the sky compares family trees and provides hints when there is both a DNA match and a common ancestor in the published trees. Most matches have been on my maternal side, but today I had my first match from another female decedent of John Bushong and Elizabeth Sprenckel. At this point I don't think the mitochondrial DNA has any value for the Bushong Family project. Since I am participating in the Ancestry.com DNA, I think I will pass on the Family Tree DNA at this time. If any of the list members are also participating on Ancestry.com, my tree is Bushong-Beasley. I am also doing the www.23andme.com DNA, but haven't gotten a report.
