This was sent to me by the Archivist in Special Collections at the Vigo County, Indiana Library after I asked her about a previous reference in the Probate Order Book concerning Julia A. Herrington that wasn't explained. ------------------ Vigo County Indiana Probate Order Book 2 Page 215 No. 19 on Docket Julia Harrington vs. Parkinson Sherman, Guardian of Nicholas Harrington, Complaint in Damages. It appeared that Julia was represented by “Noble, her attorney,” and the defendant appeared in person. Noble asked that the case be put on the court docket, which was done, and the parties agreed to submit the case to court without a jury. “And the evidence being heard and understood the court finds for the plaintiff and assess her damages at $540. It is hereby ordered that the said guardian pay the same out of the assets in his hands.” It does not say what evidence was presented although it must have been something relating to Nicholas’ guardianship. ----------------------- Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong
