Boschong Subscribers, Dusty who is Rocky's son, let everyone know on Facebook that his Dad had passed away. We knew this was coming as Rocky had been in the hospital a short time ago. Dusty came to the last Bushong Reunion and I really enjoyed getting to know him. Rocky was part of my late husband Russell's lineage as Albert Franklin Bushong and Buena Vista Bushong were brother and sister both born in Shenandoah County, Virginia. Dusty is now the last male living blood descendant of Andrew Jackson Bushong carrying the Bushong name as there were mostly girls born to the particular lineage. My sympathy to the immediate family. --------------- LINEAGE: John Bushong and Elizabeth Sprinckel John Bushong Jr. and Elizabeth Windle John Bushong and Magdalena Bauserman Jacob Bushong and Elizabeth McInturff Andrew Jackson Bushong and Amanda Fultz/Foltz Albert Franklin Bushong and Loley Fish Norman Wesley Bushong and Betty Lou Wright Rocky Wayne Bushong and Debbie Jordan --------------- The Herald Bulletin Anderson, Indiana Tuesday, 16 April 2013 ROCKY WAYNE BUSHONG May 14, 1952- April 15, 2013 Born to the late Norman and Betty (Wright) Bushong, Summitville, they moved to Pendleton in 1958. Rock attended school, being the first graduating class of PHHS in 1970. In 1971, he joined the Army and served in the Engineering Corp for three years. Upon returning home, he worked for DeShon Construction as a heavy machine operator before going to work at Citizens Gas in Indianapolis. Rock retired in 2010 as a mechanic after 35 years. He also stayed actively involved in the Army Reserves for several years. He was a life member of Amvets Post #26 and a member of the Lapel American Legion. Rock was a charter member of the AMA, a member of the Fall Creek Conservation Club and the PADI Divemaster. Having enjoyed a full life of sports, Rock was a big Colts Fan and established the “He-Man Woman Haters Club”, Pendleton Chapter., and served as VP for several years. Card carrying members total 182. Back in his day, he enjoyed racing cycles and go carts. Nothing ever smelled as good to him as burning ethanol. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and bowling. Rock was blessed with a son, Dustin, and beloved daughter, Beth. Later in life he gained another son, Isaac. All three were very important to him and he enjoyed the times they shared. Family grew to include three grandkids, Kassy Baker, Wesley and Justin Beeler. A lot of memories will be shared around campfires in the days to come as we move forward. It was with honor and privilege that his sister, Pebbles Ann (Bob) Blanchard and his wife Shawn, were able to keep Rock at home until his passing. Many thanks to his friends for their visits and prayers, especially to his buddy, Dean (Carla) Gimple, for “sharing one hell of a Ride” in his lifetime. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice or Amvets Post #26, Pendleton. There will be no traditional services, as per request. Arrangements made by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory. “So it is said. So it is written. Peace out”. ------------------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong
