Boschong Subscribers, Back in the late 1990s I was in contact with some Fogle descendants who were trying to tie their Samuel Jacob Fogle into our Michael Fogle and Mary Bushong. At that time we could not find a connection. But recently when the Shenandoah County Virginia Chancery Records came on-line, I found the connection and have been sitting on some crucial Fogle information, hoping that someone would contact me from the lineage of Samuel Jacob Fogle asking me if I knew anymore about the Fogle family. Those people I had worked with long ago had changed their e-mail addresses as many have done so it was impossible to contact them. Finally this past week two related Fogles contacted me, one in Washington State and one in Ohio State so I was able to share with them what I knew! The Chancery suit is a genealogist's dream. It seems that a Shenandoah County Chancery Suit instituted in 1908 after the death of Samuel Fogle in 1907 by his Heirs, took us all the way back to Michael Fogle Sr. with 4 of his 8 Heirs and tied that Samuel into the family of Michael Fogle Jr. married to Mary Bushong through Michael's father. I have posted about this family on the List so check the BOSCHONG Archives for the months of January 2006, July 2009 and March 2012 for further information. ----------------- What I knew in the March 2012 post before finding the Chancery suit: Michael Fogle Sr. married Margaret Burk in Shenandoah County, Virginia 27 September 1792 and MIGHT be the parents of the following Fogles: Michael Fogel Jr married Mary Bushong Philip Fogel married Mary "Polly" Burner Daniel Fogel with wife Mary " Polly" Coffman Leah Fogel - Unmarried Magdalene Fogel - Unmarried Elizabeth Fogel married Solomon Stosnyder ------------ NORTHERN NECK LAND GRANTS Shenandoah County Michael Fogle 6 October 1800 23 Acres in Powells Big Fort adjoining Moses Syver, Christian Pereenpile and c. --------------------- Now with the 1908 Chancery suit, I can confirm that this couple had 8 children because it says so in the suit and I know for sure that they included the following: 1. Michael Fogle Jr. married Mary Bushong 2. Philip Fogle married Mary "Polly" Burner 3. Daniel Fogle married Mary "Polly" Coffman 4. Eve Fogle who never married AND Possibly these children are some of the other four not named in this civil suit: 5. Leah Fogle who never married 6. Magdalene Fogle who never married 7. Elizabeth Fogle who married Solomon Stosnyder 8.
