I know that the family Cox is only related to my family but feel like they had known each other before MO. Where there any Cox families around the Bushong and Summers that you noticed? ________________________________ From: Russell Bushong <chochoruss@aol.com> To: boschong@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2013 3:40 PM Subject: [BOSCHONG] Virginia - Northern Neck Grants - SUMMERS - Part 1 of 2 PART 1 of 2 --------------------- Good afternoon Boschong Subscribers, In September 2005, I shared the Northern Neck Grants for the few Bushongs who received them in Virginia and some of their related families. Only one Bushong grant was for the southern part of Virginia. Andrew Bushang, Grantee 7 February 1804 Location: Montgomery County, Virginia Description: 330 acres on the head waters of Indian Run a branch of Roanoak including his house and improvement adjoining John Preston and Greshams Heirs. ----------------------- Now I am sharing with you all of the Northern Neck Grants with the surname Summers so that you can get a better perspective of how many Summers were in early Virginia in different areas some of which were Johns. Keeping in mind that back in the early days, families were large and everyone was giving the same first names to their children. Just because you see two like first names, do not assume that they are the same person unless you have followed that person down through the records WITH Birth, Marriage, Deeds, Wills and Estate, Death, and Chancery. Also keep in mind that anyone of these men could have a daughter, sister, niece, or cousin named Jannett. Notice that there is a Mitchell and a Hale mentioned in these Grants both names associated with Bushongs.
