The Uniontown Morning Herald Uniontown, Pennsylvania Saturday, 16 December 1916 Page 1, Column 3 JURY TRIAL IN CRIMINAL COURT TO CLOSE TODAY ----------- CONNELLSVILLE POLICE CHIEF IS FOUND GUILTY OF VIOLATION OF THE STATE EXTRADITION LAWS -------------- NEWS OF DAY AT THE COURT HOUSE --------------- Jury trails in criminal court will close today after one of the most strenuous sessions in recent years. The full two weeks allotted to the trail of criminal cases has been taken up, and there remain two or three cases to be taken up today before juries. Criminal court will continue before Judges J. Q. Van Swearingen and E. H. Reppert next week. There are about 25 non-support, surety of the peace and juvenile cases to be taken up before the judges at that time in addition to the regular routine work. A large number of criminal cases were disposed of yesterday, the judges remaining until late in the evening to clear the calendar. SHAMROCK MAN NOT GUILTY OF ROBBERY Metro Hoontane, alias Metri Kozovich, in a verdict returned before Judge Van Swearingen at 7 o'clock last evening was acquitted of assault and battery with intent to rob and robbery {kill}. It was alleged that Hoontane, with three other men, attacked PETER BUSHON at Shamrock a few weeks ago, and robbed him of $340. It was alleged by the commonwealth that the men shot at BUSHON five times and then hit him over the head with a blackjack before they relieved him of his cash. -------------------------------------------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong
