The Commercial-News Danville, Illinois Tuesday, 17 September 2013 RUTH ALMA (CLOUSE) BUSHONG Ruth Alma Bushong, 97, of Hoopeston, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, 15 September 2013, at Heritage Manor Rehabilitation and Senior Living in Hoopeston. She was born 6 December 1915, in Hoopeston, the daughter of Elmer J. and Emma (Finley) Clouse. She married William Leslie Bushong on 27 June 1944, at Camp Hulen, Texas. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Lois M. (Norman) Butzow of Milford and Nancy J. Bushong of Hoopeston; one son, James L. (Donna) Bushong of Lafayette, Ind.; one sister, Edith (Bernie) Carlson Deany of Hoopeston; one sister-in-law, Anna Clouse of Hoopeston; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Inez and Alice; and three brothers, Earl, Ray and Walter. Mrs. Bushong was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hoopeston. Ruth enjoyed gardening and baking, especially angel food cakes and chocolate chip cookies, and spending time with her family and friends. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, 19 September at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main Street, Hoopeston. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, 20 September at First Presbyterian Church, 915 E. Orange St., Hoopeston, with the Rev. Wade Meranda officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
