Boschong Subscribers, Back in February 2011 I posted about John Brown and his two wives one of which was Elizabeth Bushong. I found the Pension application which gives us a little more information about him and his second wife. There is a small descrepency for the maiden name of second wife Catharine. Their marriage bond stated her maiden name as Cramer and when one of her daughters married Thomas Hanson it also stated the maiden name as Cramer. BUT her pension application as a widow states her maiden name as Cremore. So the big question is: Was she married before she married John Brown to a Cramer or is this just a memory loss at her age of application or the way she pronounced Cramer sounded like Cremore. I tend to believe her maiden name was Cramer. See BOSCHONG Archives for September 2005, January 2006, July 2007 June 2009 and February 2011 for more information on John Brown and his wives Elizabeth Bushong and Catharine Cramer ------------------- WAR OF 1812 PENSION AND BOUNTY LAND WARRANT APPLICATION Pension Application #15663 State of Virginia Shenandoah County ss On this 21st day of March A.
