    1. [BOSCHONG] What is the relationship between Duncan McArthur & wife Nancy & John Beshong? - OH
    2. Russell Bushong
    3. Boschong Subscribers, I have lots of thoughts and questions after posting this 1821 Deed. What was wife Nancy McArthur maiden name? Was it possibly Bushong? And if she was a Bushong did she first marry a Mitchell? OR Was if she was not a Bushong but married to a Mitchell before marrying Duncan Mitchell could this John Beshong of the Deed be the Mitchell son adopted into the Bushong family and became John Bushong? Or none of these. No one can really honestly answer those questions. Even a birth record is a church does not prove the same person without a tombstone or obit as that child could have died. It's just a educated guess based on assumption. And since there is a Mitchell connection, all possibilities should be explored. Transcribing this 1821 Deed between Duncan McArthur and wife Nancy and John Beshong, got me to thinking and it does bring up some questions. What was the relationship between the McArthurs and John Beshong? This was definitely a curious Deed. Back in that time frame, most Deeds were between family members and it is very odd that Duncan McArthur and wife would turn over all this land to John Beshong for one dollar after fighting so hard alongside John Beshong in chancery to get it. We won't really know for sure until more of those Ross County, Putnam County Bushongs are DNA tested. There is definitely more to this story then meets the eye. And since I am not so sure about some of the early lineages attributed to Andreas with no real early documentation, there could have been a mistake in the research. Thus the Mitchell DNA. Sorry about that folks but that the facts of the matter. Gloria Neiger Bushong
