Funeral services depend on brother. One of East Liberty's esteemed citizens, Job Bushong, died near 3 o'clock Wednesday morning following a stroke of apoplexy and paralysis. On March 22 Mr. Bushong was stricken with apoplexy after which he never regained consciousness and death was not unexpected. The good man will be missed by citizens of the community where he had long resided for his life was a useful one. He had been a member of the Methodist Church and a citizen staunch and true. Mrs. Mary Welch, a sister, reached home but recently from St. Cloud, Florida where she has been spending the Winter, and was present at the bedside of Mr. Bushong with the wife and other kindred. W. H. Bushong, a brother of the deceased, and wife of Bellefontaine, who are wintering in St. Cloud, are hastening home, and upon the time of their arrival, depends arrangements for the funeral. Job Bushong was born on July 30, 1853, near West Mansfield, the son of Jacob Bushong and wife and had resided the greater portion of his life in Logan County. He had lived in Lima, Springfield and Urbana, returned to East Liberty from the last named place last November. The deceased was twice married, the first wife, who was Mary Wren, passing away some five years ago. Mrs. Lavina {Josephine} Alsbaugh Bushong, the second wife, remains. The children of Job Bushong are Charles Bushong, of Lima; Mrs. Will Grubbs and Mrs. Benjamin Cook, of Bellefontaine; Ora Bushong, of Springfield, and Mrs. Cora Krause of Columbus. Two brothers remain besides the brother and sister named, Milton Bushong of East Liberty, and GEORGE BUSHONG, of Elkhart Indiana. Mr. Bushong would have reached the age of 68 next June. He had always been an industrious citizen and his days were filled with labor. A kindly, good-hearted man is gone. ---------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong
