Good Beautiful Afternoon Boschong Subscribers, There is much to be learned from the past two years. The Bushong family is NOT a perfect family, including myself. Rest assure no one is going to drive me out of genealogy and I will continue to research, post my research, and support the Bushong family, no matter what. Sure, there have been a few mistakes made in my research, but there has been so much MORE that was RIGHT and NEW. We should embrace that. Whose research has been totally perfect? In the overall scheme of things, the few mistakes I made should NEVER have been taken and blown out of proportion, as it has been for the last two years by one man. Truthfully, only DNA would and did answer the question. Nothing more should be discussed about this. MISTAKES ARE PROOF THAT YOU ARE TRYING. None of us can stop the harassment, criticism and the twisting of words by those few dissidents who still continually try to discredit. Only they can do that and they have turned it into a game for entertainment. One can only ignore it, endure it, learn from it and be stronger in the research. Don't be fooled or hung up by the word Blood vs Adoption, when I am speaking of the DNA results, as they are just words to describe the reality of the situation in a report and just meant for clarification. Unfortunately all this abuse has caused some reputable researchers to discontinue their Bushong genealogy and I can't really blame them. To those who have tried to discredited the wives of Bushongs, me included, as not being Bushongs, and the adopted children, as not being Bushongs, that is wrong. I do appreciate the one guy who did apologize for this slight. These wives and children are acknowledged by law to be Bushongs so as a united family, all should embrace these people as true Bushongs including those that do not test to be Bushongs by DNA since they are legally Bushong. However, when you do your charts and trees, and GPS would require, and in reality, you must be HONEST and state somewhere at the beginning of your tree that your family was adopted into the Bushong family once you know this and show where that happened in the tree. If you know the surname that you were originally, you should include that in your genealogical chart. I want to apologize publicly to all List and researchers for any part I have played in dividing this family. I do not send e-mails out to other researchers, trying to discredit another. What you see here is all I have to say and I am very open about it. I hope others will find it in their hearts to do a public apology as they ARE equally guilty. DO THESE THINGS: 1. Grow up 2. Post only positive messages to the various Lists. 3. Ignore and do not respond to the negative poisonous campaign of e-mails being sent behind the scenes to Bushong family members about me every time I post and others and the negative posts to other Lists. Just remember there are only a few of these dissidents and they are the ones hurting the Bushong research community. 4. Let us ALL, Forgive, Forget, and move on with researching this very interesting and diverse Bushong family. The Bushong Family Reunion will be next year at New Market, Virginia at the Battlefield. The dates are 3, 4 and 5 October 2014. Why not come and meet me and the Bushong family members!
