The mother Emeline T. Bushong died 13 January 1891 and is buried in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, Chester County, Pennsylvania.She was born 24 June 1850, daughter of Joseph D. Valentine and Hannah Parker Lauer. --------------------- On the 25 December 1891 Edwin marries for a second time to Hannah B. Hoopergardner in Fulton County, Pennsylvania. Bushong, daughter of Mrs. Edwin S. Bushong, formerly of West Grove, Pennsylvania, to Mr. Laurence B. Gawthrop, of this city, will take place today at 2114 Diamond Street in the presence of only members of the immediate families. After the ceremony the couple will leave for a short wedding trip. Mr. Gawthrop is the son of Evan B. Gawthrop of 3810 Hamilton Street, and is advertising manager of a prominent manufacturing concern in this city. Both the bride and the bridegroom spent the early years of their life in West Grove, Pennsylvania. Benson of the United Brethren Church united in marriage George Marshall, of Todd Township, and Mrs. Hannah Bushong, of McConnellsburg. The bride is the widow of the late Edward {Edwin} Bushong, of Chester County, Pennsylvania, and a daughter of the late Denton and Elizabeth Hoopergarden, of Whips Cove. The groom is one of Todd Township's good citizens, and the bride a splendid housekeeper.
