Boschong Subscribers, I came across this obit tonight. Fred Bushong was the Father of Nora Bushong Larimer with an art studio in Colorado. She does beautiful work. You can find her by using Google. Since my late husband Russell was an amateur artist, he corresponded with her every once in awhile. I send my sincere condolences to Nora and her family in this sad loss. --------------------- The Beecher Herald Beecher, Illinois Thursday, 2 May 2013 FRED BUSHONG Fred Bushong, 98, of Beecher, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his home. He was born 11 April 1915, to Mary Teresa and Walter Scott Bushong, and grew up in Streator with his sister, Mary, and brothers, Richard and William. Fred was a teacher, craftsman, golfer, enjoyed cowboy stories and music and was a WWII US Air Force veteran. He and his wife taught in Beecher schools, then moved to Oregon in 1949 to complete his master's degree in industrial arts at Oregon State University degree returning to Illinois to continue his teaching career at Peotone High School. He taught there for 32 years and also coached the golf team. Mr. Bushong married Violet Gardner in 1948 and they had two sons, Walter Scott Bushong and Michael (Beth) Bushong; four daughters, Nora (Preston) Larimer, Rachel (Joe) Arasin, Becky (Peter) Stevens and Sarah (Kit) Taylor; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under he direction of Hack Funeral Home in Beecher.
