He was the son of Maurice W. Deshong Sr. and wife Rachel Kirk of Delaware County, Pennsylvania. There were 3 generations with the name of Maurice W. Deshong. 1. Maurice W. Deshong Sr. born 1808 who married Rachel Kirk 2. Maurice W. Deshong Jr. born circa 1846 who married twice: M/1: Jane M/2: Emma Jane Hammond 3. Maurice W.
